Free online metadata viewer for photos (EXIF, IPTC, XMP)
Free online metadata viewer — read EXIF, IPTC, XMP, GPS, and camera data from any image. Runs in your browser. No signup.
A metadata viewer shows you the hidden data embedded inside a photo. ExifVision is a free, browser-local metadata viewer that reads EXIF, IPTC, XMP, GPS coordinates, camera fingerprint, and edit history from any image — without uploading it anywhere.
## Use it now
1. Open the [ExifVision homepage](/). 2. Drop a photo (JPG, PNG, HEIC, WebP, TIFF, AVIF, RAW). 3. Read the full metadata report: camera, lens, timestamps, GPS with map, privacy score, manipulation and AI-generation heuristics.
## What a good metadata viewer should show
- EXIF — the camera block: make, model, lens, aperture, shutter, ISO, focal length. - GPS — latitude, longitude, altitude, heading, plotted on a map with reverse geocoding. - IPTC — caption, credit, copyright, keywords. - XMP — Lightroom edits, ratings, creator ID, panorama and HDR flags. - Thumbnail — the embedded preview (which often carries its own EXIF). - Forensic signals — double JPEG compression, thumbnail mismatch, C2PA / AI-generation fingerprints.
## Why browser-local matters
Traditional metadata viewers require upload. That means the operator sees your image before you do — with the GPS coordinates and camera serial still intact. ExifVision reads everything with client-side JavaScript, so the file never leaves your device. It works offline after the page has loaded.
## Beyond viewing: scrub and export
Once you can see the metadata, you can act on it. ExifVision includes one-click GPS-only stripping or full metadata removal, plus dossier export as JSON, CSV, TXT, or PDF for reports and legal exhibits.
