Camera metadata, tag by tag
Make, model, serial number, firmware — what each camera tag actually reveals about you.
The camera block of EXIF is the fingerprint. Make and Model are the least sensitive — millions of people own the same iPhone. LensModel narrows it a bit. BodySerialNumber and LensSerialNumber are the smoking gun: these unique IDs let anyone with two of your published photos prove they came from the same camera.
FirmwareVersion and Software can even reveal which version of iOS or which Lightroom build processed the file — data that's occasionally been used to date-stamp leaked images to specific weeks.
